Privacy Policy
This policy explains how VENUM Systems ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal information when you visit or buy from venumsystems.com. We are the data controller for this information under UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
What we collect
- Order information: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, and details of what you buy. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card details.
- Messages: information you send us through our contact form or by email, such as your car details for fitment checks.
- Website use: information about how you use our site, such as pages viewed, device and browser type, and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
- Configurator choices: when you use our steering wheel configurator, we record the options you choose (such as make, model, finish and colours) so we can understand which builds people are interested in. This does not include your name or contact details.
- Marketing: your email address, if you sign up to hear from us.
How we use it
- To process, make and deliver your order, and to contact you about it, including confirming fitment.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To run, secure and improve our website and product range.
- To send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records.
We rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, your consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), and legal obligations.
Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, including Shopify (our store platform), payment providers, delivery carriers, email and analytics providers, and advertising platforms such as Google and Meta where you have allowed it. We do not sell your personal information.
Some of these providers process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place as required by law.
Cookies
We use cookies to make the site work, remember your cart, understand how the site is used, and measure advertising. Where required, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, and you can change your choices in your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes (usually six years), and other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To make a request, contact us through our contact page.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
